Service scope: five layers of a garden renovation

One written record, from the first survey to the upkeep calendar.

Each commission begins with a condition survey rather than a mood board. We record light, soil, water, levels and site access, then build the renovation as five connected layers so that nothing is ordered before the ground can receive it.

We work in Kyiv and in settlements within roughly 40 km of the Kyiv ring road. Planting choices follow the light and soil measured on site, together with the upkeep hours a household can realistically give through the year.

Layer What the record contains Deliverable Timing
Site assessment Light exposure, soil structure, drainage, existing planting, access and levels. Condition survey with measurements and constraints 1–2 weeks
Plant selection Species matched to light, soil, water, climate and the maintenance capacity you confirm. Planting schedule with quantities and seasonal windows 2–3 weeks
Lighting concept Path, step, terrace and planting illumination, power access points and modest use after dark. Annotated plan with fixture notes and switching zones 2 weeks
Hardscape planning Paths, edging, steps, terraces, levels and drainage considerations. Dimensioned layout with material list 3–4 weeks
Maintenance planning Seasonal cadence for pruning, feeding, irrigation checks and replacement planting. Twelve-month maintenance calendar 1 week

Plant lists and cost conditions are set out in plant selection and pricing conditions. To book a survey, use the assessment form.

Plants chosen by site conditions, not by catalogue photos

Every planting plan starts with what the plot already offers: hours of direct sun, soil depth and drainage, wind exposure, and how much watering and pruning the household can realistically keep up with. The list below is the order of decisions we work through before a single specimen is ordered.

Where a plant cannot be sourced in the agreed season, we present an equivalent substitute with the same light and water profile and record the change in the project ledger.

Selection criteria

  1. Light auditSummer and winter sun hours per bed
  2. Soil profilepH, depth, drainage, compaction
  3. WaterRainfall capture, irrigation lines
  4. Climate fitFrost tolerance, drought tolerance
  5. UpkeepPruning hours per season

Seasonal planting windows

March to May
Container shrubs and perennials establish before the July heat.
September to October
Bare-root trees and hedges, the lowest-stress window for woody plants.
June to August
Planting continues only with a committed irrigation schedule.
November to February
Structural and hardscape work; live planting pauses.

Plant lists are confirmed in writing before ordering. Read the terms on pricing conditions or request a site assessment.

Pricing conditions

How a renovation estimate is built, what it includes, and what is quoted separately.

Each quotation follows a measured site survey. Plot size, soil, drainage, existing planting and access are recorded before any rate is set, so the figure you receive matches the work on the ground rather than a printed rate card.

Estimates are issued in UAH and stay valid for 30 days. Plant supply is priced from the nursery list current at the date of order, which is why seasonal availability can move a final invoice by a small margin. Fixed fees for survey, lighting concept and hardscape planning are credited against the installation invoice once the project is confirmed.

Work covers Kyiv city and settlements within roughly 40 km of the Kyiv ring road. Travel beyond that radius is quoted separately.

Included in the estimate

  • Site survey, plot measurement and soil notes
  • Planting plan with species, quantities and spacing
  • Plant sourcing and delivery to site
  • Lighting concept with zone layout
  • Hardscape planning for paths, steps and terraces
  • Twelve-month maintenance calendar

Quoted separately

  • Structural engineering and building permits
  • Irrigation installation and water connection
  • Tree removal and stump grinding
  • Electrical work beyond low-voltage lighting
  • Replacement of plants damaged after handover
